Will it dull blades?

Yes. Synthetic ice dulls skate blades faster than arena ice, so more frequent sharpening should be expected. The frequency depends on usage, skating style and blade condition.

Garage training zone

Two-car garage, 3 boxes. Full stride work and shooting reps without clearing the whole garage every time.

Basement setup

Finished basement, used year-round. Low ceiling is no problem — edges, crossovers and stickhandling all fit.

Family training room

Two nets, one surface, three kids. Stays set up all season and gets used almost every day.

More reps at home

More ways to train. More reasons to use it.

Strides, stickhandling, shooting and passing — the same reps your player does at the rink, on a surface that lives in your garage.

Strides & edges

Real strides, crossovers and edge work. The surface runs slightly heavier than arena ice — that resistance is what builds leg strength.

Stickhandling

Toe drags, dekes and puck control on a surface where the puck actually slides.

Shooting

Wrist shots and snapshots taken off a real glide, not a static dryland mat.

Passing

Flat and saucer passes with true puck travel — practice timing, not just hands.

What Ice Tiles owners say

★★★★★

“We wanted something our player could actually skate on, not another dryland surface. The modular setup also made it easier to fit the space we already had.”

Jeff Stone · Package purchased
★★★★★

“Having a training space at home means my player can get meaningful reps without waiting for the next practice or booking another ice session.”

Brian Richards · Package purchased
★★★★★

“We started with a smaller area in the garage and liked knowing we could expand it later instead of committing to a full-size setup immediately.”

Questions before you buy

The questions that matter before delivery

How much space do I need?

Each box covers 21.6 sq ft (10 tiles, 18" × 18"). Most garages fit the 3-box setup at 64.8 sq ft, and driveways usually need 5 boxes. Use the sizing advisor above — enter your length and width and it recommends a package. You can start smaller and add boxes later, since the tiles interlock seamlessly.

How does it affect skate blades?

Like other synthetic ice surfaces, Potent Ice Tiles will dull skate blades faster than natural ice, so more frequent sharpening should be expected. How often depends on usage, skating style, blade condition and the player’s preferred sharpness. Start with properly sharpened blades and check the edges regularly.

Can I install it in a garage or basement?

Yes — garage, basement, driveway or patio all work. The tiles install as a floating layer over flat concrete, asphalt, tile or a finished basement floor. No glue, no nails, no damage to what's underneath. Most setups are complete in under 30 minutes with no tools.

What arrives with my order?

Each box contains 10 tiles covering 21.6 sq ft, with the interlocking edges already moulded in — no separate hardware. Packages of 3 boxes or more also include a free Puck Stopper Edging set. Orders ship within 24 hours, free to the US and Canada.

How do returns work?

You have 180 days. If it's not right for your space, contact support@potenthockey.com and we'll arrange the return and issue a full refund — no justification needed. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method.
