Purchased for my young player, he was stoked. Unfortunately the main board didn’t work, contacted potent and they sent us a new one right away and a shipping label for the 1st one to go back. This is the only reason they didn’t get 5 star.
I love the concept though, my son is developing his stick handling and I’m sure this will help immensely. Only upgrade I will make is to build a small platform in the middle to bump him up as if he were on his skates.
Definitely recommend for development and will likely be back for more when I design his basement off ice training area
The ArcticGlide Pro panels have exceeded my expectations. I installed roughly 192 sq ft for a home goalie training setup, and the difference between these and cheaper synthetic ice is immediately obvious — the glide is genuinely realistic, the self-lubricating UHMWPE doesn't require constant conditioning, and the surface has held up well to repeated butterfly drops and slides. The panel size makes installation fast, and the quality of the material is clearly a step above standard HDPE tiles. For a developing youth goalie, this is the closest thing to real-ice training you can put in a garage.
My one piece of constructive feedback: I'd love to see Potent offer edge trim/perimeter edging for the Pro panels, the same way you already do for the smaller 18×18 ice tiles with the Puck Stopper Edging. A matched perimeter piece would solve a real problem — keeping pads from sliding off the panel edge during butterfly recoveries, containing pucks during live shooting, and giving the installation a finished look at the boundary. Right now, customers using the Pro panels have to either fabricate their own edging or build dasher boards from another supplier, neither of which matches the surface. A purpose-made ArcticGlide Pro edging would be a genuinely valuable addition to the system, and I'd expect it to sell well to anyone doing a home rink or training setup with these panels.
Overall, a top-tier synthetic ice product. Adding a matched edging option would make it complete and deserving of 5 stars.
My son is very happy with the Potent Spin Defender. The unit was easy to assemble and operate and fun to use on his synthetic ice pad. We are very happy with the operation of the unit; however, I would of liked the Power ON/OFF button, on the remote, to shut down the unit completely other than just to stop the unit from spinning. Other than that, the Potent Spin Defender is GREAT!
We are very happy about adding the Pro Screen Shot Blockers to our rink equipment! They are so versatile and easy to use. Set up is quick, they can be moved around the ice easily, and are super solid and durable.
They've been great to add into our on-ice training, providing endless ways to work on player specific skills, as well as adding challenging aspects for our goalies too.
This was a truly great investment for our association.
Hi am having a problem with your spin defender that it doesn’t want to spin, even on the higher speed it barely moves, it doesn’t move at all on low speed, battery is fully charged
So far a great addition to our on ice training for both Goalies and Shooters alike. Great innovation for practice with or without a goalie present.
Great product for any skill level. Excellent product easy to bring anywhere and be able to practice/train.
Bought for Christmas and 3 of the panels are extremely cracked and makes it unusable. Hopefully you can get replacement panels :(
The Screen Shot Blocker is made well, it can stand up to hard shots and it is a great tool to use at home when working on getting shots through to the net.
They are not slippery enough for skating without additive
The work great
I bought the Spin Defender to add pressure to my stickhandling on both synthetic tiles and ice. The build quality seems sturdy, and feels like a well-made & durable. Setup is easy & has a remote, & adjustable However, even after a full charge, the spinning performance was Very disappointing. The motor feels Underpowered, causing the defender to bog down or slow noticeably when making contact with my stick or puck. This makes it less effective at creating the dynamic, game-like resistance I was hoping for. Overall, it’s a solid product with great bones, but the Weak spin holds it back from being truly effective for serious training.
The Edging is great..!!! I need more to surround the sides. Any deals in the future..? I purchased 9 boxes of tiles and ordered 2 extra edges but still not enough to cover the area. Very realistic bounce back my 35yr son and 3yr grandson spend hours puck handling in the garage. More Edging..!!!
MY KIDS SPEND HOURS ON THE SYNTHETIC ICE PLAYING AND PRACTICING. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR AN OPTION OFF SEASON, THESE TILES ARE A GREAT CHOICE AND THEY WERE SUPER EASY TO ASSEMBLE. THE 10-15 MINS EACH DAY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR PLAY.
These are GREAT tiles. Worth the extra price. We had some ones from a different company prior to and they dont move the puck like these ones... they are perfect. Already both my kids games have improved!
Great product. Skates remain surprisingly sharp after use. Can’t wait to purchase more to increase rink size.
I purchased the pro passer roughly three weeks ago and have nearly used it everyday between my kids and I,not sure what i was doing before. Its easy to set up and works like a charm. Highly recommend picking one up.
I won this in a giveaway so I feel terrible leaving a bad review especially with the customer service I received being so good but… it out of the blue stopped working on my second use. I (unwisely) tried opening it up and looking for something wrong and it seemed like everything kept falling apart.
So far so good with the tiles. Have not tried them with skates yet. Puck slides well. They go together easy and I can actually move them around in sheets without taking them fully apart to transition them between inside and outside, if necessary.
We received our spin defender and it is awesome! Very well made, really great training tool! My kids love it and I love it too!
I purchased the Spin Defender specifically because it was advertised as a complete training system, including a professional 4-week progressive program and exclusive video drills.
While the physical unit seems well-built, the digital "bonus" materials have been a massive disappointment. The "exclusive" videos I was sent after several follow-ups were just a few basic, unhelpful clips that do not constitute a structured program. Despite multiple emails to support asking for the 4-week series promised in their marketing, I have received no clear timeline or professional content.
It feels like the training side of this product was rushed or is still in production, despite being sold as "ready for download." If you are buying this for the coaching and structured drills, be warned—you might end up having to figure it out yourself.
I am currently considering a return as the product does not match the advertised experience.
